Jesus Cares
Read Psm. 55:22. There we are told to cast our burdens on the Lord. To do that we must know that He cares for us more than anyone else above the earth, on the earth or under the earth. Satan may come to you because of adverse circumstances and tell you Jesus does not care, but that doesn't change the fact He does. How do I know Christ cares for me?
I. The Justification He Gives
See Rom. 5:16. In a judicial sense, the very moment we were saved, Christ justified us through grace. The word “justify” basically means “to declare righteous through faith.” When we are justified, our sins past, present and future are taken care of through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:28). Because Jesus was willing to justify me, I can know He cares.
II. The Creation He Provides
Read Gen. 1:1. Because the Lord has provided trees, rivers, lakes, the sun and the moon, I know the Lord cares for you and for me. God could have put us in a world like Mars but instead we were given beautiful planet earth. God made it for the habitation of the man He created.
III. The Demonstration He Gave
Look at Rom. 5:8. God has demonstrated His holy love through what Jesus did for the sinner on the cross of Calvary. The word “commendeth” in Rom. 5:8 means “demonstrated.” God does not have to write His love in box car letters across the sky, His work at Calvary is adequate and sufficient proof of His divine love. He died the Innocent One for the guilty.
IV. The Intercession He Furnishes
Read Heb. 7:25. He does intercede for you and for me. The word “intercession” means “to go to meet a person for the purpose of conversation.” Its root word can have the idea of “taking a case” as a lawyer or legal envoy. Christ pleads the cause of believers before the throne of God on high. He always gets the job done that He sets out to do.
V. The Translation He Promises
Consider Heb. 11:5. There will be a translation, a carrying from this side to the other side, for all the saints of God one day. All saved people are going to heaven. Some will go by the way of death, while others will be alive when Jesus returns to gather His church. There will be a “carrying over.”
